NEW YORK, NY — In the wake of unfolding health and economic crises across the globe, and rising protests against the systemic failure to see, value and protect Black lives, the Atlantic Fellows for Racial Equity (AFRE) selected 20 leading changemakers to join its fellowship program aimed at strengthening and accelerating social change in the United States and South Africa.

The Atlantic Institute's fifth webinar in the series explored Racialization of COVID-19: Resistance and Reimagining. It examined racism as a factor in the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, and how the virus has exposed the need for urgent change.
